Light Fixture Recall by Belair Lighting

March 2012 Product Recall Information

In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), BelAir Lighting, the importer of the lamps, or its Transglobe subsidiary, is announcing the recall of about 99,700 units of outdoor wall lamp, Lowes #253366, or Transglobe #44181. Bel Air has learned of reports that the wiring of the lamps shorted internally. Two of these reported that the lamp caught fire.  No injuries or reports of property damage have been received. Bel Air is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to undertake a voluntary recall of these products.

The recalled outdoor wall lamp is 19.25" tall by 9.75" wide by 9.25" deep. The fixture has a three light candelabra base cluster attached to  tube in the center and is made from cast bronze color aluminum with beveled glass. the body of the lamp is attached to the mounting plate on the house with a question mark shaped piece of metal.

Similar looking lamps in the same series that are 15.75" high or 26" high are not subject tot his recall.

A label affixed to one of the three bulb sockets is labeled in part: "E194303 HL"

Internal wiring of the lamp can short circuit, presenting a risk of fire and electric shock.
